Position description: Education Services for Blind and Visually Impaired Children (or ESBVIC) is a statewide service of Catholic Charities Maine providing assessment, instruction, and consultation to blind and visually impaired children, their parents, and school personnel. Among the services we offer are: low vision training, braille instruction, instruction in use of adaptive equipment, selection and/or modification of specialized curriculum, activities of daily living, strategies to facilitate concept development, and consultation to schools and families about the implications of visual impairment.

The volunteer would assist the ESBVIC director (remotely)

Impact of opportunity: Helping to creating more supplemental teacher materials for the education of children with a visual impairment.  would be helpful for the staff, and the children that they serve.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

Training Offered: Catholic Charities Maine Agency Orientation; On-the-Job training

Time Commitment/Schedule: Flexible, at home schedule, as long as material are available to process.
