Position Description: A Client Assessment Assistant is responsible for responding to phone requests for financial assistance from specific areas of the state. Work involves phone interviewing of applicants, recording intake information, assessing need within program parameters, assisting with follow up and providing other community resources.

Key Responsibilities:

To assess and return calls from those seeking financial assistance from Catholic Charities

To learn, understand and direct callers to key community assistance programs in the area

To track financial assistance requests on Microsoft Excel spreadsheets

Qualifications & Skills Required:

Ability to communicate effectively with diverse people within the community in a non-judgmental manner

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Ability to use email, Microsoft Word and EXCEL

Experience working directly with those in need of financial assistance

Training Offered: How to respond to inquiries, Catholic Charities procedures and policies & volunteer orientation.

Time Commitment/Schedule: One to three days/ per week - days
