Catholic Charities Maine’s Children’s Services Announces Program Expansion
New Office in Lincoln Ensures Local Services Available in All of Penobscot County
Bangor, ME – Catholic Charities Maine is pleased to announce it will open a new Children’s Services office in Lincoln on January 5, 2015. The new office, located at Health Access Network, will ensure the organization is able to provide local case management services to families throughout Penobscot county.
“We’re thrilled to be able to expand to provide these critical services to children and families in even the most remote areas of Penobscot county,” notes Jamilyn Murphy-Hughes, Director of Children’s Services. “We’ve seen a dramatic increase in referrals from this area and want to be sure we continue to serve those most in need here in Maine.”
The new office will facilitate access to case management services for Clients. “It is our commitment to see new clients within a week of referral,” adds Murphy-Hughes. “We understand what families are going through and believe no one should be placed on a waiting list for these types of services.”
Catholic Charities Maine Children’s Services provides case management services to youth from birth through age 20 who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, neurological or genetic disorders and autoimmune diseases, among others. From assessment through advocacy and evaluation, CCM case managers encourage and build independence; enhance functioning in home, school and community and empower children to achieve their optimal potential. The not-for-profit organization has been providing Children’s Services for more than 20 years.
The new office, opening January 5th, will be located at Health Access Network (HAN) and will enable CCM case managers to coordinate care with shared clients of HAN physicians and clinicians for an enhanced patient experience. “The children Catholic Charities serves are some of our most precious patients,” says Bill Diggins, RN CEO at Health Access Network. “The co-location of their case management with our primary care clinicians can only improve care.”
