Catholic Charities Maine Receives United Way of Mid Coast Maine Community Investment
Portland, Maine – Catholic Charities Maine is pleased to announce its SEARCH (Seek Elderly Alone, Renew Courage and Hope) program has been awarded a one-year grant for $14,600 for the United Way of Mid Coast Maine.
The SEARCH program supports outreach to senior citizens in the community by connecting them with volunteers to create long-term support systems to meet their needs and ultimately helps them feel less isolated while also remaining independent. SEARCH operates in Androscoggin, Sagadahoc, Lincoln and Kennebec Counties as well as the Bath/Brunswick area.
The United Way of Mid Coast Maine’s mission is to: improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities. The organization looks to provide the greatest possible impact on behalf of the community by seeking agencies who will be active partners in working cooperatively.
SEARCH provides free support services including friendly visits and companionship, socialization opportunities, transportation for grocery shopping and errands, telephone reassurance calls, and information and referrals to other community services and programs.
